LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — In today's Financial Focus, we discuss the return of Parler and what's happening with Bitcoin.
PARLER RETURNS ONLINE
Parler, which is based in Henderson and was banned last month, is back online.
The homepage for the newly redesigned website reads, "Speak freely and express yourself openly without fear of being "De-platformed" for your views."
Parler's return comes after revelations that some of the Jan. 6 capitol rioters had organized on the platform.
The site also now links to a new community guidelines document that explains the company "will not knowingly allow itself to be used as a tool for crime, civil torts or other unlawful acts."
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH BITCOIN?
Bitcoin continues its rise in the market.
The digital currency almost hit a value of $50,000 yesterday.
And in the last few months, it has more than doubled in value.
Investors have sent its price skyrocketing during the pandemic as the federal reserve cut interest rates to near zero in March of last year.
More companies are starting to be open up to the crypto-currency.
Just last week Tesla said it may soon accept it as payment for its cars.
