Asking public to download Wanted app

The FBI is making it easier to find criminals by using social media. They're pushing for everybody to download one of their latest apps called Wanted.

Wanted posters used to be found in post offices. Now, everybody has a cell phone, so that's how the FBI is fighting crime.

Anybody using the smartphone app can search their city and find a suspect's profile. They can then send a message through the app, telling the FBI what they know.

The FBI is calling it technology-driven crime fighting.

"The FBI needs to be where the people are, and that's on social media," says Sandra Breault with the FBI Las Vegas. "It's not just on Twitter or Facebook, but through these interactive apps that you can actually reach out to the FBI directly."

You can download the app for free here.
