UPDATE NOV. 19: The Clark County Coroner's office has ruled the death of 30-year-old Erik Shaun Harris of Las Vegas a homicide from a gunshot wound. His father, 58-year-old Glenn Harris, has been arrested in connection with the death. He faces murder charges.

Glen Harris is being held without bail at Clark County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16 for a preliminary hearing.

UPDATE NOV. 5: Las Vegas police have identified the man accused of shooting and killing his 30-year-old son on Tuesday night as Glenn Harris.

Police say they received a call from the man's wife around 5:10 p.m. She told a dispatcher that her husband had shot and killed their son, Erik Harris.

Dispatchers then heard Glenn Harris threatening to kill himself.

Upon arrival, Harris did not want to come outside but police officers were eventually able to talk him out of the home.

His wife told police that her husband shot their son in the stomach and then placed the gun under his son's chin and fired a second time.

Glenn Harris told police that Erik had a long history of threatening the family and he finally had enough.

Erik's mother told police before the shooting that they allowed him to visit the home during the day, but he was not allowed to sleep there and that she would usually give him a ride somewhere.

Last night, she was attempting to motivate Erik to leave but he was procrastinating in the garage, where he was shot.

After she went back into the house, she heard yelling and then heard a gunshot. She then ran to the garage and saw the second shot.

The man's mother also told police that their son had been using drugs for several years and was unable to keep a job.

The Clark County coroner has not officially identified the man who was killed. Harris is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court at 1:30 p.m.
