UPDATE: 2 arrested in fatal shooting near Tropicana, Nellis

LATEST UPDATE: 2 men were arrested in last Friday's shooting near Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
 
Through the course of this investigation, detectives with the LVMPD Homicide Section identified 20-year-old Oscar Gomez and 25-year-old Gustavo Delacruz-Cortez as the suspects in this murder.
 
Gomez was taken into custody by the Criminal Apprehension Team in the 400 block of Fortissimo Street in Henderson without incident and faces one count of open murder with use of a deadly weapon. Delacruz-Cortez was taken into custody by the CAT in the 9300 block of Yucca Blossom Drive without incident and faces one count of harbor/concealing/aid a felony offender.
 
UPDATE:  Detectives say an argument inside a store spilled out into the parking lot leading to the fatal shooting.
 
Police said four men were arguing inside a liquor store near Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
 
Two of the men then got in a fistfight in the parking lot.
 
One of the men injured in the fight started running away, but detectives say he was chased down by another man not involved in the physical fight.
 
The suspect then fired at least one shot hitting the victim in the chest.
 
The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he died. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner.
 
Both suspects, described as Hispanic males, fled the scene in a blue vehicle.
 
This is the 83rd homicide investigated by Las Vegas police in 2016.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A fatal shooting has been reported at Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
 
Las Vegas police say the shooting took place on Friday around 9:24 p.m.
 
Reports say a fight broke out in front of a mini-mart. The suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim.
 
The victim stumbled away before collapsing. After being transported to the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.
 
Police are still investigating the shooting.
