UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Thomas Peron from Clarksville, Tennessee.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A 49-year-old man died after his car rear-ended a semi-truck Monday evening.
The crash was reported around 6:20 p.m. on southbound Interstate 15 near Mile Marker 112, which is not far from Mesquite.
The man was driving a Mazda 4-door when he rear-ended the semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
The right travel lane of southbound I-15 was blocked as the Nevada Highway Patrol investigated.
