UPDATE: Motorcyclist identified in fatal I-15 crash

LATEST: On Monday, the Clark County Coroner identified the motorcyclist as Julio Ceasar Salazar from Las Vegas.

UPDATE: 10:42 A.M. Southbound Interstate 15 is back open. 

An investigation revealed that a silver Lexus 4-door vehicle was speeding on Interstate 15. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a Harley Davidson motorcycle, then slammed into a wall.

The 43-year-old male motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An adult passenger in the Lexus was also taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The 29-year-old Lexus driver sustained minor injuries and was not transported.

The Lexus driver was taken into custody on DUI charges.

UPDATE: 9:55 A.M. The RTC reports that the Southbound Interstate 15 remains closed at Russell Road. 

Alternate routes are advised.

Las Vegas (KTNV) -- The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 15 at Russell Road Sunday morning.

Southbound of the interstate is being closed at Russell while troopers investigate.
