LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Everyone is breaking a sweat at Summerlin's Power Hour 360. But once the workout is over temptation is not too far away.
"Every time you drive a block you're going see a fast food restaurant,” said Chris Darcy .”And I think for the average person you're tempted to stop."
And when it comes to fast food, Las Vegas is no average city.
Apartment Guide crunched the numbers and ranked Las Vegas No. 5 on its listof Best Cities For Fast Food Lovers, mostly because of the sheer number of restaurants - it counted more than 350 in the city limits.
“I came up one of our freeways, and there are four fast food restaurants next to each other, and it was a line 10 deep on each of them. So I’m not surprised,” said Reinier Geyser.
Geyser is a diet and nutrition specialist and founder of Power Hour 360.
He said Las Vegans pay a whopper of a price for all that convenience.
"And the price on the other side is health,” said Geyser. “Obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, which is all related to the fast food industry.”
Since fast food is nearly impossible to avoid in our city Geyser recommends meal planning so your trips through the drive-thru will be less frequent.
“If you have healthy choices and you eat it, calories are calories. Once you are satisfied that craving for that fast food will go away,” Geyser said.
