Posted

A family was rescued from their home after a fire trapped them in a bedroom.

The fire broke out Saturday night on the 4000 block of Meadow Foxtail Drive near Hollywood Boulevard and Desert Inn Road.

The Clark County Fire Department rescued five people that were trapped in a bedroom.  It was all caught on camera.

"The fire department did an absolutely great job. It was awful," said Ramona Simpson who filmed the rescue.

Karla Cruz was sleeping in the home with her three young kids and her mother-in-law when the fire started.

"We are recovering and we are okay, thank God," Cruz said in Spanish.

The family was treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
