LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Electric pedal-assist bikes are available to borrow in downtown Las Vegas for a limited time.
Starting March 4 through March 18, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada will test an e-bike program by adding 5 electric pedal-assist bikes to its existing 180 classic bikes inventory in the RTC Bike Share.
The electric bikes will be available for the same price as classic bikes and can be found at any of the 21 station locations in the downtown area.
Riders can purchase a 24-hour pass for $5 or a 3-day pass for $10 at the bike share kiosks.
Monthly passes are available online for $20.
The electric bikes are powered by a front wheel pedal-assist motor with speeds up to 17 miles per hour.
After March 18, the RTC will evaluate ridership and feedback to consider whether electric bikes should be added to the bike share program.
