LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A new school year is upon us, with new COVID-19 challenges and a lot of new money.

Tuesday, Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara joined 13 Action News on Good Morning Las Vegas along with Kirsten Searer, the president of the Public Education Foundation, to discuss the upcoming school year.

As the new school year is approaching, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends students over the age of 2 wear masks regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status.

Jara says he's waiting on new guidelines from Clark County officials.
