UPDATE: After 12 hours of investigating, Blue Diamond Road reopened near mile marker 18.
Officials say a dump truck was passing through a construction site where crews are expanding Blue Diamond Road. The driver started to experience brake problems and lost control of the vehicle.
The truck hit a blue sedan, then crashed into a motor home driven by a German couple in their 70s.
The German couple died at the scene. Both the driver of the dump truck and the blue sedan were taken to the hospital as a precaution, though neither were seriously hurt.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- On Monday, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash on Blue Diamond Road near mile marker 18, between Mountain Springs and the Charleston Loop.
Reports say a Dump Truck and a Motor home collided around 12:02 p.m. Two people died as a result.
Blue Diamond Road is closed in both directions near mile marker 18.
