LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The holiday season doesn't always bring joy for everyone.
A Las Vegas valley psychologist says it's not uncommon for some people to need extra love and patience this time of year.
"There's a false illusion presented about what the holidays should look like," said Dr. Michelle Paul, a psychologist at UNLV. "Including its got to always be happy all the time."
Dr. Paul says if you find yourself getting into a mindset of worry, you should take a moment to pause and try to shift into another mindset of what the holidays represent and mean to you.
She says it's okay to feel a full range of emotion on Thanksgiving, but also at any time of the year.
