Travis Pastrana is making headlines for his planned jumps in Las Vegas this weekend, but the daredevil has been testing the limits of motorcycles and cars his entire life.

The 34-year-old is hoping to land three of Knievel's most iconic jumps in three hours Sunday.

While he isn't a household name heading into the stunt series, Pastrana has made a history staring down danger.

He began racing dirt bikes at a young age and became a motocross champion before dominating the X Games Freestyle Motocross category for years.

He was the first person to pull off a double backflip on a dirt-bike in 2006.

He also jumped a Subaru car 269 feet onto a barge from a Long Beach pier.

Just take a look at some of the things he's done on both two and four wheels.

Despite all that Pastrana said trying to complete all three jumps on a bike similar to the one Knievel crashed trying to jump the fountains at Caesars Palace in 1967 is scary.

"This is one of the scariest things I've ever sat on, let alone had to jump on.  It is like dropping out of the sky with a tank," Pastrana said.

As part of the fun, Pastrana said he will attempt the jumps wearing riding leathers and a cape, paying homage to the iconic daredevil.

"This is probably the most infamous and iconic jump in stunt lore," Pastrana said. "We are going to bring the spectacle.  We are going to bring the fun."
