A cyclist died after a hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon just west of the Las Vegas Strip.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Mel Torme Way and Sammy Davis Jr. Drive.
Police said 2005 Sterling Flatbed truck was traveling north on Sammy Davis Jr. Drive in the right travel lane north of West Mel Torme Way, as was the cyclist. The right side of the truck struck the bicycle causing it to crash.
A witness at the scene claimed an unknown shuttle bus traveling behind the Sterling truck traveled over the cyclist. The 22-year-old male cyclist was transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment. The driver of the shuttle bus did not remain at the scene.
