The new Las Vegas lawyer for soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is claiming that documents related to the incident were "altered and/or completely fabricated" and "irresponsibly published."
Ronaldo is being accused of sexually assaulting Kathryn Mayorga during an encounter in 2009 at the Palms hotel-casino in Las Vegas.
Ronaldo and his lawyer are insisting that the encounter was consensual. Ronaldo and the woman reached a non-disclosure agreement in 2010.
