An infant was rushed to the hospital after someone intentionally set fire to an apartment around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say a suspect threw an unknown object through the window of an apartment near Tropicana and Eastern avenues, thus sparking the fire.
"Basically I've seen a lot of smoke a lot of smoke everywhere," said neighbor Niquie Louis. "I heard like an object being thrown through the window."
Two women and an infant were inside the apartment. The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution and is expected to be OK. Both women were uninjured.
"They have a 3-week-old child so we're glad everybody's ok," said another neighbor.
Fire investigators said they did respond to a car fire at the same apartment Sunday night.
"That was the Porsche and we came outside and it was just on fire from both ends," Louis said.
Neighbors believe the family was being targeted.
Officials are still searching for the suspect that started the fire. No motive is known for either fire at this time.
