The Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in Pahrump that left a woman critically injured this past weekend.
Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of West Alaska Way for a woman with a traumatic head wound.
Detectives conducted an investigation related to the circumstances surrounding her injuries.
After the woman had been taken to UMC Trauma in Las Vegas, it became apparent that she suffered from a gunshot wound. While she is in critical condition, it is expected that she will recover.
At this point, the circumstances remain under investigation, and nobody has been taken into custody.
