Captain Dori Koren said that police responded to the call within a minute.
Arriving officers went up to the shooting scene and located three victims. Two female victims were transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition from multiple gunshot wounds and the third, a man believed to be in his 40s to 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The LVMPD Homicide Section found that the suspect, later identified as Billy Hemsley, was involved in an argument with several family members inside the hotel room.
An early investigation by police indicates that there were four people in total in a hotel room who all knew each other. The four got into an altercation where one individual started shooting.
At some point during the argument, Hemsley shot the three victims and fled the area.
Detectives from the LVMPD Major Violators Section located Hemsley near Nellis Boulevard and Twain Avenue and took him into custody.
