UPDATE OCT. 23: UNLV police have been informed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident at the Cottage Grove Parking Garage.

Juh’Juan Washington was arrested yesterday in connection with the kidnapping that occurred on Friday at the UNLV parking garage.

A photo from Washington’s arrest on October 22 can be seen below,  as well as a photo from a September 2017 arrest.

The September photo shows Washington as he appeared in the incident that occurred on Friday, October 20.  At the time of his arrest on October 22, the blonde tips had been cut from Washington’s hair.

ORIGINAL STORY: UNLV police say that a female student was kidnapped by a male and forced to perform a sexual act on him.

The incident happened on Oct. 20 between 6-6:30 a.m. on the second floor of a campus parking garage. As the student was getting out of her car, she was approached by a man armed with a handgun. The man forced the student back into her vehicle and made her drive to an area on Katie Street, east of Cambridge Street, where he forced her to perform the sexual act.

The student was able to gain possession of the gun and flee the vehicle. The suspect also fled on foot.

UNLV police say they're looking for a black male with blonde dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the front and blue jeans.

In the meantime, UNLV Police say they will be increasing patrols for campus parking garages and will be working with College of Southern Nevada Police to beef up police presence on campus.

The case is being investigated by both the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the UNLV Department of Police.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact UNLV Police at 702-895-3668.
