Another Clark County School District student has been arrested for making threats against a school.
The incident reported Friday was at Cadwallader Middle School, near Elkhorn Road and Buffalo Drive in northwest Las Vegas. The student arrested Friday was a 14-year-old boy.
This was the day after a reported incident directed at Rancho High School Thursday where a 16-year-old male student was arrested.
The below message was sent out to parents at Cadwallader Friday:
This is Shannon Manning, assistant principal at Ralph Cadwallader Middle School.
Earlier today, we received reports of a student making threats against our school. We notified the Clark County School District Police Department and they responded to our campus and investigated the matter, which resulted in the arrest of a student.
The arrest provides us with an opportunity to remind parents to have discussions with their children about reporting any possible suspicious activity or behavior to school administration and/or law enforcement.
Providing a safe, positive learning environment for our students is the number one priority and I wanted to keep you informed of important issues happening within our school community.
Thank you for your continued support. It is only with your help and concern that we can become aware of potential safety concerns and take proper action to protect our campus.
