Sentencing for man who reportedly attacked rideshare driver postponed

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The sentencing for the man accused of kidnapping and stabbing a rideshare driver on the way to Mesquite has been postponed.

Police arrested Chantilly Farmer and Devonte Roberson after the incident in September 2020.

Report: Honeymooning couple says rideshare driver made advances at wife before stabbing, robbery

The couple told police at the time that the rideshare driver made advances on Farmer.

The driver told police he knew the couple before the stabbing, saying he had driven them around Mesquite after their car broke down.

He gave them his number and they contacted him again when their car broke down in Henderson. He was driving them to Mesquite when the incident took place.

On Oct. 14, 2020, Farmer and Roberson entered a guilty plea in exchange for a deal.

Roberson’s sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 20. It was postponed today until 11 a.m. Jan. 27.

Farmer is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 2.
