LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Prominent businessman Scott Gragson will be paying the children of a mother killed in a crash when he was allegedly driving drunk.

In 2019, Gragson was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed in The Ridges community, after a charity golf tournament, when he crashed his car.

Melissa Newton, 36, passed away in the crash and three others were injured.

Friday, Newton's three children are said to receive $21 million in the settlement reached, according to court documents, with Gragson paying $12.8 million and insurance covering the remaining amount.

The real estate broker's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit upon testing after the crash.
