Michael Barnson was an unofficial volunteer coach at Cimarron-Memorial High School, which is the school that he graduated from in 2014.

Barnson is also a member of the National Guard and was arrested at McCarran International Airport on March 18 after returning from a trip for the guard.

Barnson admitted to police officers that he was having sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl on a wrestling team.

Both he and the girl told police that they had been involved in a relationship and spent time together on multiple occasions, going out to eat and working out together. The girl also allegedly told Barnson's wife that she knew they would be together eventually.
