LATEST: The Clark County Coroner identified the man who was shot on Thursday as 24-year-old Rashad Ryan from North Las Vegas.
UPDATE: 13 Action News spoke with multiple businesses near the scene of Thursday's fatal shooting. Small business owners said they're living in fear because they've had multiple armed robberies in recent days.
They shared surveillance video of the incidents.
The video shows who appears to be the same suspect. Two business owners said they've been hit twice in the past week.
North Las Vegas detectives said they believe the suspect who was shot and killed at 7-Eleven was responsible for a string of recent robberies. However, they have not confirmed the man in the surveillance video is the one who was fatally shot.
13 Action News will continue to follow this developing story.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Police are investigating a fatal shooting near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say that a man was attempting to rob a 7-Eleven store when an armed citizen, inside that store, stepped in, shooting the suspect. The citizen was a vendor of the store, not a customer.
North Las Vegas police said the citizen is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.

The suspect attempted to run but collapsed not too far away. He died shortly after being shot.
Police say there are life and death situations, but they prefer that people reach out to them immediately for help.
"We want people to call police, we want to handle the situation," says Ann Cavaricci with North Las Vegas police. "However, if there is a need to defend someone's life, then that's a decision that person will have to make in the heat of a moment."
The identity of the alleged robber is not known at this time. The Clark County coroner will release that information after relatives have been notified.
At this time, North Las Vegas detectives believe the deceased male may have been responsible for a recent series of robberies in the area.
Anyone with additional information regarding this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
