UPDATE: Police identify suspect in homicide of unarmed security officer

UPDATE APRIL 28: Las Vegas police identified 16-year-old Anthony Okelberry as the suspect in the death of Hursey Dale Addison.

Booking records show he was booked into Clark County Detention Center on Saturday and is facing charges of murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary, possessing a credit or debit card without the owner's consent and possession of a dangerous weapon on school or child care facility property or vehicle.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police say an unarmed security officer is dead after someone found him bleeding on the ground, unconscious in a parking lot.

Officers responded to a 911 call just before 10 p.m. on April 22 near Russell Road and Mountain Vista Street.

When officers arrived, they found the 75-year-old man laying on the ground near a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. Police say he was assigned to patrol the apartment complex.

The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Several witnesses heard gunshots about 30 minutes before he was found.

At this point no suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown.

The Clark County coroner identified the deceased on Wednesday as 75-year-old Hursey Dale Addison of Las Vegas.
