UPDATE AUG. 27: The Clark County Coroner has identified the deceased as 16-year-old Christopher Williams from Las Vegas. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Williams' death has been ruled a homicide.

Police in Las Vegas are looking for a suspect after authorities say a teenager was shot and killed during an altercation over the weekend.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting near North Las Vegas and Nellis boulevards shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday.

When they arrived they found a 16-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced dead.
His identity will be released by the coroner's office.
Detectives say the teen was walking in the area when he was approached by a man. The two got into an altercation before he was shot.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
