LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One child is dead and another has been injured following a shooting in southeast Las Vegas.

This happened just after 6 p.m. at an apartment complex near Boulder Highway, between Flamingo and Tropicana.

Lt. Jason Johannson said the two kids were with their family in their apartment.

That's when investigators believe gunfire came through the wall of a neighboring apartment and hit the children.

Both were taken to Sunrise Hospital.

One child was pronounced dead while the other has a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators said it doesn't look like the family was targeted.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday night, there are no suspects in custody.
