Police arrest man after yearlong robbery spree

Beginning in Dec. of 2016, a series of armed robberies occurred at businesses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson. The robberies usually took place at convenience stores and the suspect was described as a black male, over 6 feet tall, and roughly 250 pounds.

In the robberies, the suspect entered the store wearing a camouflage bandana over his face and he would demand money from the clerks at gunpoint. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Commercial Robbery Section identified 29-year-old Lanarrd Laird as the suspect.

At about 3:25 a.m. on Dec. 3, Laird reportedly robbed a convenience store located in the 7200 block of Amigo Street, near Warm Springs and Bermuda roads. The clerk was able to activate an alarm, and detectives who were in the area were able to capture Laird.  A

Laird was arrested in connection with at least 17 events and faces numerous charges including robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a firearm.
