40-year-old man dies in North Las Vegas shooting

Around 6 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a deadly shooting at 2508 Daley Street near Civic Center and Las Vegas Boulevard.

Arriving officers located a 40-year-old man lying outside of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation indicates there was a knock at the door and the male victim had a brief conversation with someone at the door. Just as the conversation ended multiple shots were fired through the front door striking the victim. It is unknown at this time if the suspect left the area on foot or in a vehicle.

The coroner's office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death of the decedent after proper notification to next of kin.
