One dead after shooting at Las Vegas apartment complex

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex near Charleston and Lamb Boulevards.

Police say when they arrived they found an 18-year-old female shot, she was transported to University Medical Center where she died.

It's believed a group of juveniles and other young people were listening to music in a car when someone in the backseat had a gun and fired it hitting the 18-year-old victim.

The three people in the backseat ran away, the other two that were in the car stayed and are talking with the police.

There have been no arrests at this time.

LVMPD says they are looking for 1 female believed to be 18-19 years old and 2 males in their late teens.

Police are not sure, at this time, if this was an accidental shooting or done on purpose.

6 people in total were in the car when the shooting took place.

Authorities say they believe all were acquaintances from school.
