UPDATE OCT. 3: The Clark County Coroner's office identified the man killed in an attempted robbery as 59-year-old Steven Colburn. He died of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, and his death was ruled as a homicide.

A man was killed during an attempted robbery around 10:45 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 3300 block of North Thom Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue and Rancho Drive.
Police say that a man and woman were parked on the street when they were approached by a male with a gun.
The man demanded the woman's property and told the man and woman to get out of the car.

Upon exiting the vehicle, the man began running away and the shooter began chasing him. He then shot at the man running away, hitting him multiple times.
The man collapsed in the parking lot of a business.
The shooter, described as a thin man between 25 and 35 years of age, ran away. No arrests have been made at this time.
The Clark County coroner will release the name and age of victim after proper notification.
