UPDATE: Homicide suspect shot and killed in Michigan

OCT. 16 UPDATE: The suspect in this case was identified as 30-year-old David Peretiatko.

Detectives confirmed via surveillance video that the suspect took the victim's 2015 Honda Fit on Oct. 10, a day before the victim was found dead in his apartment.

Reports indicated that Peretiatko was traveling to Michigan. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department alerted the Traverse City Police Department that he was a suspect in a homicide investigation. LVMPD Detectives were later told by Traverse City Police that Peretiatko was shot and killed in a private residence.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a man found dead in an apartment Tuesday evening.

Around 8 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Flamingo Road, near Cambridge Street, to investigate a report of a deceased person inside an apartment. Homicide detectives later determined the man lived alone and suffered from apparent stab wounds.

The victim was seen earlier in the evening walking through the lobby with an unidentified male. He is described as a white man 25 to 35 years old, tall and with medium build. The man has dark, short hair, and a close-cropped beard and is considered a person of interest.

The victim’s vehicle, a silver 2015 Honda FIT bearing NV license plate 458-LLJ is also missing.

This is the 132nd homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2016. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
