A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer has been arrested on possession of child pornography charges.
On Friday, LVMPD investigators served a search warrant at a residence regarding information received over allegations of possession of child pornography. The suspect in this investigation was identified as Officer Ruben Delgadillo.
Investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Internal Affairs Bureau immediately began parallel investigations into these allegations.
During the service of the search warrant, Delgadillo was taken into custody without incident. Delgadillo was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of 1 count of possession of child pornography and 1 count of distribution of child pornography.
Delgadillo was hired with the LVMPD in July 2015 and is currently assigned to the Community Policing Division, Northwest Area Command. Delgadillo will be placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of these allegations.
