Police: Man killed, another injured in shooting near Cambridge, Sierra Vista in east Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said they are investigating a homicide Thursday night near Cambridge Street and Sierra Vista Drive.

It happened in the 3500 block of Cambridge Street.

Lt. Jason Johansson said officers first responded to calls of gun shots. As officers were heading to the scene, multiple calls came in reporting that two people had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found two victims. Both were transported to Sunrise Hospital, where one was pronounced deceased and one was considered having non-life threatening injuries.

Police found during their preliminary investigation that there were five individuals involved in a physical altercation prior to the shooting.

As of Thursday night, police had limited information on the suspected shooters. Johansson said they believe this was not a random shooting, and that the parties knew each other.
