LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two men have been arrested for the death of a man on Nov. 7 in the 3200 block of Wynn Road near Desert Inn Road.
32-year-old Melvin McHenry and 31-year-old Antonio Ricardo Cruz III are facing charges of open murder with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder.
According to an arrest report, surveillance video showed McHenry, Cruz and the victim, identified as 36-year-old Alexius Sala of California, outside a recording studio before the shooting.
The shooting took place in the northwest corner of the rear parking lot.
A woman associated with the recording studio recognized one of the men and identified him by his rapper name of Mel Zoda. Police were able to locate a local rapper named Melvin McHendry using that name on social media.
Another person told police that the victim lived with Cruz in Las Vegas and traveled to and from California.
Police believe that Cruz was the shooter. They were also able to connect the rental vehicle that was at the scene to Cruz.
