Las Vegas police name suspects in weekend hookah lounge shooting

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police have identified the men arrested for a deadly shooting outside of a hookah lounge on Feb. 20.

They have been identified as 18-year-old Jeramiah McKenzie and 21-year-old Jaylon McKenzie.

Police say they responded to a shooting at the hookah lounge near Flamingo Road and Jones Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered two males had been shot — Jaylon McKenzie and another person.

McKenzie was transported to UMC in critical condition and the other person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that a group of people got into an argument inside the lounge. They were asked to leave. The shooting happened in the parking lot.

As a result of the investigation, Jaylon McKenzie was arrested and booked in absentia for Open Murder. Jeramiah McKenzie was arrested for one count of attempted murder and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

The victim will be identified by the coroner.
