UPDATE MAY 5: Las Vegas police have identified Vincen Segura as the officer involved in a deadly May 5 shooting involving the department.
Officer Segura is 27 years old and has been employed with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department since 2017.
Police say Segura is assigned to the Community Policing Division, Southeast Area Command. He has been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this incident.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police say an officer shot and killed a man with a sword after the he lunged at them while police were trying to de-escalate a disturbance call.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police say they responded the call at Sandhill Apartments near Lamb Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive.

Arriving officers say there was a man on the second floor of the building waving a sword around.
The man began to approach the officers, police say, and he lunged at them while the officers were trying to de-escalate the situation.
That's when authorities say the man was shot and killed.
This is the 7th shooting involving Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the year, and of those incidents this is the 3rd deadly shooting.
The shooting remains under investigation.
