UPDATE NOV. 3: The Clark County Coroner has released the identity of the two decedents. 36-year-old Alba Nidia Villatoro from Las Vegas died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds and her death has been ruled a homicide. Jose Villatoro, 44, also from Las Vegas died from a bullet wound to the head and his death was ruled a suicide.
Las Vegas police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide at a residence in the 4100 block of Don Bonito Street near East Flamingo Road and Mountain Vista Street.
According to police, they received a call from a woman who said her roommate was fighting with her husband. She told police that she saw the man with a gun and she grabbed a child in the residence and left.
Police say that when they arrived on the scene, they set up a perimeter and began talking to the man. However, he refused to leave the home.
Upon entry into the residence, they discovered a man and woman with gunshot wounds. The man was dead but the woman was still alive at that time.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Clark County coroner will identify the deceased after notification has been made.
