Las Vegas police identify suspect in fatal shooting on South Jones Boulevard

Las Vegas Metro Police have identified 30-year-old Jimmy Ramirez as a suspect in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend on July 3.

Authorities said Ramirez is currently in custody at the Clark County Detention Center on an open murder charge.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting Wednesday evening.

Police confirmed it happened at the 4300 block of Southern Jones Boulevard in an apartment complex in the area of Jones and Flamingo.

According to Lt. Jason Johansson, the suspect called 911 around 4:21 p.m. to report that he had shot his girlfriend after a fight in the apartment.

Las Vegas police investigating fatal shooting

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, but she later died from her injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
