Homicide detectives investigate after man found dead in Spring Valley home on New Year's Eve

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A homicide investigation is underway in Spring Valley on Saturday night.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed detectives were on scene in the 7100 block of Topeka Drive, a residential neighborhood in the area of Tropicana Avenue and south Rainbow Boulevard.

At 12:20 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of an unresponsive person inside a residence, and arriving officers located a man with an apparent gunshot wound, officials said. Medical personnel pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

"This is an ongoing investigation led by the LVMPD Homicide Section," police said. "The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office."
