LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two teenagers have been convicted in the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old boy in suburban Las Vegas last year.

A jury found 17-year-old Jaiden Caruso and 18-year-old Kody Harlan guilty of first degree murder Wednesday in the death of Matthew Minkler.

Prosecutors say Caruso fired the shot that killed Minkler and Harlan took cash from his pockets at an abandoned Henderson house in June 2018.

Prosecutors say Caruso then recorded a video of the body.

Harlan's attorney, Ryan Helmick, argued his client was asleep on a couch when the shooting occurred.

Defense lawyer Mace Yampolsky blamed the shooting on drugs and alcohol.

Caruso and Harlan were also convicted of robbery with a deadly weapon.

The two are scheduled to be sentenced next month.
