LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the deaths of a man and woman who were shot outside a business in the south-central valley on Wednesday.

Investigators were on scene in the area of Sunset and Paradise roads. As of 9 a.m., police had blocked off the entirety of Pamalyn Avenue from Bermuda Road to Caballo Street.

Lt. Jason Johansson with the LVMPD's Homicide Section said officers were called to the area at 7:52 a.m. Initially, they were told the shooting happened inside the business, but arriving officers found the male and female unresponsive in the parking lot, he said.

Neither person had been publicly identified as of this report. Johansson said the woman appeared to be in her 20s, while the man appeared to be in his 40s.

The woman's friend drove her to work and was dropping her off when the man "came out of hiding" and shot her, Johansson said.

Police were told the man started to walk back to his car, but then returned and shot himself in the head.

Johansson said the man and woman had been in a long-term relationship, but are said to have broken up in the fall of 2022.

Homicide detectives' investigation into the shooting was ongoing as of this report.
