HENDERSON (KTNV) — A former Henderson police officer, Michael Ray Stevens, has been arrested.

Stevens, 43, was arrested on Dec. 21. He has been charged with 2 counts of domestic batter strangulation (felony), 2 counts of domestic battery (misdemeanor) and 1 count of coercion (misdemeanor).

Stevens was arrested in 2010 for soliciting prostitution. A local prostitute told Las Vegas police that she had been with Stevens several times and knew he was a police officer. Detectives set up a sting operation and nabbed Stevens when he showed up for an arranged meeting with the prostitute.

Stevens had been with the Henderson Police Department for 5 years at the time of his arrest. It is not known at the time if Stevens was convicted of the charges in 2010.
