LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Ciera Brawer, the 21-year-old driver who pled guilty to driving under the influence resulting in death for the Jan. 2020 crash that killed Christopher Garcia, has been sentenced.
According to court records, Brawer was sentenced to five to 15 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections, with 403 days credit for time served.
The wrong-way crash happened in the early hours of Jan. 17, 2020, in the airport connector tunnel.

The court also assessed a $2,000 fine, $12,687 in restitution to be paid to Garcia's family and other court fees.
The court also ordered that prior to any reinstatement of driving privileges, Brawer will need to have an interlock device installed and inspected on her vehicle at her expense for a period of not less than 12 months nor more than 36 months, said period to commence after any period of imprisonment, residential confinement, confinement in a treatment facility or on parole or probation.
