For the parents of a woman allegedly killed by her husband, his arrest brings no comfort to the pain they live with every day.
Clinical psychologist Gregory Dennis was arrested last week in the Jan. 3, 2015 death of Susan Winters, which had originally been ruled a suicide. Dennis has since been released on bail.
When Winters' parents, Avis and Dan, received the initial call that their daughter had committed suicide, something felt off. The Winters unconvinced hired an attorney and a private investigator that would eventually lead to Dennis' arrest.
Police said the finances were rocky and the marriage stormy with Susan Winters texting friends, "Dennis was either having an affair or was gay." Then there was his admitted drug use.
Her parents did like Dennis but now after the allegations indicate that he killed their daughter, they hope he is sentenced to life in prison.
The biggest concern for Avis and Dan Winters is the grandchildren they no longer see.
