Suspect in custody after a series of robberies near UNLV

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On Thursday, at approximately 2:42 a.m., a robbery occurred at the convenience store located near the 4700 block of South Maryland Parkway. Later that same day the suspect was placed in custody.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says this incident has been linked to three other reports of robbery and attempted robbery at 7-11 Gateway Building, Runnin’ Rebel Plaza, and Harmon Avenue at Escondido Street. The suspect reportedly entered the store and demanded money from the victim, but did not brandish a weapon. However, the suspect was seen to be in possession of a handgun in at least one of the robberies.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, aged 18 to 22 years old, 5’10”- 6’00” tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.
