A 21-year-old Las Vegas man has pleaded guilty to a reduced murder charge in the shooting death of a man during a botched drug deal in February at an apartment complex near Nellis Air Force Base.
Colton Dakota Brantano is expected to be sentenced to 13-to-32 years in state prison under a plea deal reached Wednesday in Clark County District Court.
Brantano's lawyer, Tom Pitaro, says prosecutors are expected as part of the agreement to drop an accessory to murder charge against Brantano's co-defendant, Sherri Lee Esquibel.
Brantano pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and felony use of a deadly weapon charges in the Feb. 23 shooting death of 24-year-old Tyler Louis White.
Police say the fatal dispute came after White agreed to buy painkiller pills for Brantano.
