JAN. 4 UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim of the shooting on Bruce Street as 31-year-old Lazareo Jones. Jones' death was due to multiple gunshot wounds and the incident has been ruled a homicide.
2021 has begun with two shootings in the Las Vegas valley.
The first shooting took place at around 4:15 a.m. North Las Vegas police say a man was shot around 4:15 a.m. during a New Year’s Eve party in the 3400 block of Bruce Street near Losee Road.
Police say 2 people were fighting when a 3rd person approached and fired multiple shots. The victim was struck at least twice and died at University Medical Center. No arrests at this time.
The second shooting happened shortly before 6 a.m.
Las Vegas police say a woman was shot near Smoke Ranch Road and Jones Boulevard. The woman was transported to a local hospital. She has since been released.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the deceased after notification has been made
