A 16-year-old is dead after a shooting near Lake Mead Boulevard and Belmont Street on Saturday.
Police were dispatched to the scene around 5 a.m. Once there, they found a group of people outside a house. A 16-year-old male and a 26-year-old male in the group were suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital.
Officers later learned about a third person, an 18-year-old male, that was taken to the hospital before police arrived.
While at the hospital, the 16-year-old died from his injuries.
According to North Las Vegas police, all three subjects were together at a house when they got into an argument with another person. The altercation escalated into a shooting, and the three males were struck. The shooter fled the scene before police arrived.
Investigators believe this is not a random act of violence, and that the subjects knew each other.
