LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On Aug. 1 at approximately 3:19 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to a house party in the 5700 block of Ruby Creek Drive near Sloan Lane and East Sahara Avenue to investigate reports of a shooting.

Arriving officers located a man in the doorway of the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the residence was rented out for a party. At approximately 3:15 a.m. as party attendees left the event, an exchange of gunfire occurred outside of the residence striking the victim.
Detectives later learned that a second adult male who attended the event, self-transported to University Medical Center with a gunshot wound where he is currently stable.
The shooting investigation remains ongoing. The identification of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
